I have it on good authority that I'm not worth the time and effort, considering what a 'self-righteous, reckless, twitchy little man' I am.

Finch almost fired me a few times because I'm so hard to work with, and half the people I've saved couldn't stand me. I'm not exactly a walk in the park, either.

And we do have time. That's- well, I was going to say it was the weirdest thing I've heard about this place, that we don't age and time doesn't pass. But that got beaten earlier this week by Nita.

Is she? I've only talked to her over text, so far. She did come off as pretty young, though.

So- apparently my story is fictional in her world. Or Hannibal's story, rather, because of course it would be. I mentioned people I know, to try and recover some lost memories? She admitted she recognized a few of them.

As if this place wasn't weird enough, right. She know who you were?

Yes. She tried to be polite about it, but she clearly did. Told me there was someone back home that could 'kind of' do what I do, getting inside people's heads. So she was familiar with that much, at least.

I've looked at the library for the title she gave me- Silence of the Lambs. Haven't found it yet. Maybe I should've asked for the author, but there's something that feels oddly 'taboo' about going that far.

I could try to figure it out. If you wanted.

Sure, why not? I imagine you'd be curious what was in there, too. All I got from Nita was that certain people were in the story, no idea how close to my reality they may have been.

I already have a whole file. Which we should probably talk about, along with all the other... permanent warden stuff.

[ No, he'd really rather not go into the file, honestly. But with how Shaw is, it's kind of inevitable. Not much point in fighting that. But there's at least a question first. ]

Uh...I mean, it's really weird, don't get me wrong. But I think having someone writing regular, very unflattering tabloid articles about me probably got me a little less sensitive to the idea. Maybe I'll feel differently when I look at it.

Tabloids are one thing. Having someone tell you you're not real where they come from is another.

It's functionally the same thing, for me. I know I exist, I know my experience. If something else comes by and tries to give others a wrong impression, there's not much I can do about it.

I might've gotten lucky, actually, with Hannibal being the focus. That means that I won't be labelled the 'intelligent psychopath' this time. Although 'murder husbands' is still on the table, I suppose.

She wrote that about us, after somehow finding out about my trip to Europe to find Hannibal. She was...infuriatingly insightful, sometimes. Wish she would've used that for actual journalism, instead of sneaking into my hospital room and taking pictures of my stab wounds.

I don't know, Graham; sounds like a trashy asshole to me.
