It's wider than it is taller. Areadbhar can lay flat, but it cannot stand upright. I think I could stand upright but considering I don't know how large this space is, I'd prefer to remain sitting.

Good plan. Don't try to move anything or get yourself out; I want to check it out first.

[She's not exactly an expert on caves or disasters therein, but she figures that when you're dealing with large amounts of unstable rock, it's easy to make the situation worse when you're trying to make it better; better for them to know how things look from both sides of the cave-in before they go shoving boulders around.

After a pause, she adds, almost as an afterthought--]

You scared?

Why would I be scared? [ he asks, as if it's a stupid question and Shaw is a stupid person for asking it. ]

The worst that can happen in here is I die—and due to that damned Admiral, that won't even last.

My thoughts exactly, but, uh-- most people would be. Figured I'd ask just in case.

Most people are idiots, [ he bluntly responds. ]

[There's a pause - and in the background, water rumbling.]

Okay, I'm in the waterfall chamber. Which tunnel branch did you take from here?

The left, [ Dimitri says. ] It looked wider. I wonder if it was because something excavated the tunnel instead of it happening naturally.

[cactusy]

Any branches after that, or do I just keep going straight to find you?

[weedeating]

Keep going straight. There should be a large pile of rubble on the right. That's me.

[cactusy]

You wanna give a shout when you hear footsteps, just in case?

[weedeating]

Of course. How far away do you think you are anyway?

[cactusy]

Depends. How narrow does the tunnel get? Any pitfalls I need to look out for on the way?

[weedeating]

Not narrow, but I'd still be careful of rocks and loose terrain.

[cactusy]

[In the most deadpan voice:]

Caves, am I right?

[weedeating]

Most caves you don't have to worry about cave-ins caused by giant worms.

[ he is already Done with this. ]

Is that what did it? Some kinda creature got Sheehan, too.

[weedeating]

I can only assume it was a giant worm. I only got a glimpse of the beast and it looked suspiciously worm-like.

[cactusy]

Could be more than one type of dangerous creature down here, but I'll listen for the rumbling. I--

[She pauses, and then:]

I think I see your rubble pile.

[weedeating]

Should I try to dislodge some of the rubble? So you can be certain it's me, of course.

[cactusy]

No, no way; better not risk it. It looks pretty precarious from out here.

[She cautiously approaches what she thinks is the right spot, scanning her flashlight over it - and then switching off her communicator.]

Hey! You in there? Can you hear me?

[weedeating]

[ It's muffled by the rock, but Shaw can hear Dimitri yell back, ]

I'm here! I'm behind these damned rocks!

Okay, here's what I'm thinking - we start pulling them out one at a time, not doing anything on either side without telling the other about it first. Starting from the top, working our way down. Waiting after each removal to check for instability.
