{ As much as Lestat does not want to do this, he still shows up, punctual and hoping Shaw decides that one lesson is, in fact, enough. Though he also suspects that she's stubborn enough to continue them if she knows he finds them irritating, so he thinks that the best course of action is to act as though he isn't bothered by them.

When he sees her, he puts on a polite smile. }

I admit I'm not certain. My own experience learning languages has been unorthodox.

My experience with learning languages has been a lot more intense and immersive than this, so... yeah, let's go the "high school French class" route.

[Her accent isn't the worst - she's clearly heard French, and has a general idea of how it's pronounced - but she's also clearly not familiar with the language beyond the very basics.]

And I speak Spanish. The grammar's not so different.
