How'd you meet?

On the... job, in a manner of speaking.

We were enemies for a while.

What changed?

Time, circumstances, priorities. Took a while, though. A few years.

Every friendship I have back home started with them pointing a gun at my head. Makes it harder to make friends here, actually.

Being liked on a personal level isn't a priority for me.

[He'd rather get along with people. A life spent in turbulent, violent homes has left him chronically trying to smooth things over between people, trying to build peace even if he fumbles at it.

But he has a job. Nothing is more important than his deal. If people don't like him, it doesn't matter, as long as they don't get in his way.]

I just want to help. I want Will to get his second chance.

I'm not gonna give up on him just because it's hard or annoying, don't worry. I'm in this.

What are your plans after she graduates?

Back to work, I guess. We haven't really talked specifics, but I think at this point, our job is for life. Especially for her.

We did talk about getting a bigger apartment.

She does what you do now?

Yeah. After she stopped screwing with us so much, she started to work with us sometimes in a-- freelance capacity, I guess. She'd just pop up out of nowhere, ready to help. Eventually, it turned more permanent.

[He laughs. Sounds like a dream job to him, but then, that's more or less how he ingratiated himself with Alexandria and the Kingdom. Show up, cause trouble, then one day offer help.]

It's one way to build a resume I guess.

You've noticed she's kind of nuts, right?

It's extremely charming.
