I've trained over a hundred wolves. I've never yet seen a trigger that can't be managed even if it can't be entirely rewired

I'm not saying I don't think his reactions can be managed. I just don't think controlled exposure is gonna be that realistic a solution when the trigger is being stalked and menaced with his worst memories.

I don't like it. Meddling with his head for the purposes of exposure therapy sounds more like cruel and unusual punishment than a valid problem-solving tactic to me.

If he ends up being on board, fine. But only if he's on board.
