Are you the type who likes to visit comatose bodies?

Not...not really no. They can't hear us anyway right?

That's what I think, but apparently it's a thing.

I'm fine. More bored than usual, but that's not saying much.

[hippie_ninja]

Yeah I can imagine. I'm more bored without her around and I'm not even married to her.

You want to go for a walk?

[cactusy]

A patrol walk, or a walk for walking's sake?

[hippie_ninja]

...Which one will get you to say yes?

Either. I have dogs, remember?

[hippie_ninja]

Let's patrol.

Okay; gonna leave the dogs in the cabin, then. See you on the deck in five?

I'll be there.

And in less than five minutes he's there, armed underneath his leather duster but really banking on this being a quiet evening.

He'll hear no complaint from Shaw; she's always armed as a matter of course. She jogs up a minute or so after he arrives, giving him a nod.

"Hey. You good?"

[hippie_ninja]

"Yeah," he smiles at her, nods. "Let's start with the Greenhouse, work our way room by room."

He likes the plants, likes to set his day around green things, but also it's just right there.

"How are you holding up?"

[cactusy]

"You think I'll have another answer if you phrase the question slightly differently?" Shaw asks, raising an eyebrow. "Seriously, I have three of these; I should be used to them, right?"

[hippie_ninja]

"Is it a thing you ever get used to?" He wonders. "It's so...bizarre. I can handle all the random violence that goes on around here, but the comas weird me out."

[cactusy]

"I don't like the stillness," she admits after a moment, exhaling. "It's not like regular sleep."

[hippie_ninja]

"Yeah." He's quiet a moment. "So me not visiting her doesn't mean I don't care. It just means I'm more worried about the people who are still awake, and I don't think me being at her bedside would do any good."

Shaw slows to look at him, faint surprise on her face.

"Were you... worried that I thought it meant you didn't care?"

[hippie_ninja]

He looks up at her with a small half-smile. "A little, yeah. I mean what's the etiquette for comas? Most people visit."

[cactusy]

"Yeah. It reassures them, at least a little." She pauses. "But, uh... I don't get the point either, so. No judgement over not being like everybody else with this."
