[If I don't have an active post up, feel free to use this post to have your character call, videochat, text, or knock on Shaw's door.]

[They know he was the one who has caused the magical darkness, but:] I never really talked to him. Was he surprised?
no subject
Interested. Curious. Which is fine, I guess, but it was a cool magical-looking thing, so he thought he was entitled to it.

Interested, curious, and not … quiet, I assume. [Quiet was the description Adam had used for Rawne’s emotions, and Avalon has decided that they like it. By now, it feels more accurate than empty.]

[A few seconds after that message arrives, there's a knock on their door.]
-> Action
They get up to open the door, leaving their communicator on their desk. Aside from the fact that they now have a full bathroom, their cabin has not changed since they arrived. It could belong in any mid-range hotel, and is the same size on the inside as it appears from the hallway.
“He seemed like the kind of person who would make the orbs do that,” Avalon says. “He had more energy than most of the people here.”
Action
"I like this place. Pretty much everyone else has a cabin that's bigger on the inside."

Avalon shrugs. “I never changed it when I graduated. It feels like home to me.” They have an idea of why she might like the size of their cabin, but they decide not to ask.
“What did your orb do when Eiffel and Taylor touched it?” When Rawne had touched theirs, the colors had been brighter than they had ever had, but the biggest difference had been the absence of the black streaks that always curl through their orb.

They close the door behind her. “‘Underneath a gray cloud’ is a good way of describing it.” On the surface, Shaw feels ‘quiet’ to them. They try not to probe deeper than that now that they know she dislikes it, but the idea of her emotions being covered in some way makes sense. “Not that I try to sense your emotions often,” they explain. “You would feel it if I did anything more than glance at the surface.”

When Avalon pulls out their own orb, thin streaks of yellow and pink swirl over its black surface, twisting together and sinking towards the center. They study it for a moment before offering it to Shaw. “I let Rawne hold mine a while ago, and all the black disappeared when he touched it.”
