[ It's about fifteen minutes before he comes back. Tight-voiced, an edge of pain in it. ] Thought I could distract him. Didn't fucking work out that way. Turned around, he was there. Beat the shit out of me. Passed out. Nothing broken, not that I can tell, but I, I can barely walk.

[ A pause. This is, by Rust's estimation, the worst of it. ] He didn't talk til the end. Called me his new toy.

[Shaw pauses briefly, considering their options. He does have a point: having her pick him up where he'd been dropped not only marks her, but also makes him a sitting duck until she gets there.
