Okay, okay- I get the picture. I'm not, at least, stuck in a millennia-long rut of murder. Or...I don't know who Octavius is, actually.
audio
Point is, a lot of people here don't feel worth knowing, but you do.
audio
We'll see how long you keep thinking that. Hope it's awhile.
audio
audio
Well. It's just annoying, you know? Because I actually want you to get your Deal. And I'm going to work on this, I will. But I don't-
I'm not sure me and the ship here are ever going to fully agree.
audio
audio
Now that doesn't seem very helpful for anyone.
audio
Point is, I'm not made for this place, but I'm sticking it out. You can, too.
audio
I do also think that maybe I've given you the impression that I'm easier to work with than I actually am.
audio

I have it on good authority that I'm not worth the time and effort, considering what a 'self-righteous, reckless, twitchy little man' I am.
Listen- I'm really not trying to have a pity party, I just wanted you to know. It's going to be an uphill battle.

audio
All right, then. I guess we can just both be difficult together.
And we do have time. That's- well, I was going to say it was the weirdest thing I've heard about this place, that we don't age and time doesn't pass. But that got beaten earlier this week by Nita.
audio
Nita the kid?

So- apparently my story is fictional in her world. Or Hannibal's story, rather, because of course it would be. I mentioned people I know, to try and recover some lost memories? She admitted she recognized a few of them.

I've looked at the library for the title she gave me- Silence of the Lambs. Haven't found it yet. Maybe I should've asked for the author, but there's something that feels oddly 'taboo' about going that far.

audio
You doing okay with this whole, uh, revelation?
audio
Uh...I mean, it's really weird, don't get me wrong. But I think having someone writing regular, very unflattering tabloid articles about me probably got me a little less sensitive to the idea. Maybe I'll feel differently when I look at it.
audio
[She pauses.]
Tabloids are one thing. Having someone tell you you're not real where they come from is another.
audio
I might've gotten lucky, actually, with Hannibal being the focus. That means that I won't be labelled the 'intelligent psychopath' this time. Although 'murder husbands' is still on the table, I suppose.
